Loading the Application and Welcome Screen
To enter mail@metroSM, click on the @metro softkey located at the bottom right hand side of the screen.
Use the right scroll key to select the
icon. Click on OK.
[If this icon is not available, the subscriber will need to go to MobileShop by clicking on the shopping cart icon [
], select and download mail@metroSM, then select that icon and click on OK.]
This will take you to the Welcome Page shown to the right.
To open up the application, the subscriber must use the right soft key to Select: Next.
Selecting the Email Account
The subscriber will use the center key to open the drop-down box.
Review the email provider list, use the up/down scroll key to select the name of the provider you want, and click on the right hand soft key to proceed to the next step.
When AOL and AIM are selected, the subscriber is prompted to choose one or the other in another drop-down box.
The subscriber will use the center key to open the drop-down box and select the provider and click on OK.
Selecting the Email Account Next Steps
The subscriber uses the right hand soft key to Select: Next to enter in their credentials – screen name (username) and password - for their email service.
Enter the Screen Name (Username) and password for the account.
Push the right hand soft key to Select: Next. This starts the next step to register the email.
If the subscriber would like to change their email provider, then they will use this same process.
Registration Message
- After the subscriber registers the mail@metroSM application, if their registration has been successful will go to the Inbox.
- If the registration process was not successful the subscriber will receive an unsuccessful set up message (email login failed) with additional information regarding the issue.

Registering Other Email Providers
The subscriber will use the up/down scroll key to Select: Other mail.
Use the right hand soft key to Select: Next.
Select OK to get started.
Other Email Providers– Registering the Settings
Required information includes:
- Name of Email provider
- Reply to Email address
- Incoming mail server type – POP 3 or IMAP (default setting is POP3)
- Outgoing mail server
- Outgoing mail server port – Default setting is 25
- Incoming mail server
- Incoming mail server port - Default setting is 110
If the subscriber does not have this information they will need to contact their email provider.
- Use the up/down scroll key to scroll down through the options.
- Complete the required information.
- Use the right hand soft key to Select: Login
